Mommy: You're gaining weight and your pregnancy is showing, so stand tall and be proud. You're going to be a Mom!
Baby: Your baby weighs over 10 ounces (.28 kg) and is slightly longer than 7 inches (17 cm), which is about the size of a large banana...but what a personality! The rapid growth phase has slowed, but organs and other body systems continue to mature. The swallowing reflex is in full swing and your baby will begin to "drink" amniotic fluid, which helps his/her digestive system to develop. Your baby's oil glands are also starting to produce a waxy substance known as the vernix caseosa, which soothes and protects his/her skin in the amniotic fluid. And the buds for permanent teeth are forming! No smile yet, but that'll happen sooner than you think!

Brian and I are getting ready for the baby's room and started looking at baby furniture! We are just about ready to register too! I'm feeling really good, no baby movement yet (I think, I may have felt something but not sure), getting bigger every day, trying to stay active and eat healthy! Craving potatoes - especially french fries - all the time :) :)Next doctor visit scheduled for Friday, 9/26. Will keep you posted. More updates and pictures to follow soon...

Isn't it amazing that as tiny as a banana is already swallowing and such. Glad everything is going well. Can't wait for the next update :)
GLAD TO HEAR ALL IS WELL, CAN'T WAIT TO MEET THIS BABY BOY OR GIRL.
LOVE AUNT DONNA
Just wanted to leave a prayer from St. Gerard Patron Saint of Expectant Mothers.
"O almighty and everlasting God, through the Holy Spirit, you prepared the body and soul of the glorious virgin Mary to be a worthy dwelling place of your divine Son. Through the same Holy Spirit, you sanctified St. John the Baptist, while still in his mother's womb. Hear the prayers of your humble servant who implores you, through the intercession of St. Gerard, to protect me amid the dangers of childbearing and to watch over the child with which you blessed me. May this child be cleansed by the saving water of baptism and, after a Christian life on earth, may we, both mother and child, attain everlasting bliss in heaven."
